Fourth of July in Aspen 2026
A day-by-day guide to the weekend—two towns, four days.
The Fourth in Aspen and Snowmass isn’t just a holiday—it’s a full run of reasons to never sit still, July 2–5. Parades, mountain brunch, free concerts, a carnival, live bluegrass, a drone show, and a rugby match on the lawn, with the mountains as your backdrop the whole time.
We’ve lined it all up so you don’t have to think twice. Ride up for brunch at the Sundeck, rent an e-bike and cruise between the two towns, or stake out your spot in Wagner Park and let the weekend come to you. All you have to do is show up.
This Year: Colorado’s 150th Birthday
2026 is a rare double milestone. America marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, and Colorado—the Centennial State, admitted to the Union on August 1, 1876—turns 150. We’re the only state celebrating both at once. Aspen’s parade leads with the nation’s birthday: this year’s theme is 1776, with Olympic gold medalist Alex Ferreira as Grand Marshal. Colorado’s own sesquicentennial lands a month later, on Colorado Day, August 1.
Carnival at Rio Grande Park | 12–8PM
Free rides for all—a 65-foot ferris wheel, a carousel, a 100-foot slide, and the dizzy dragon—plus carnival games and food. Friday and the Fourth. The family centerpiece of the weekend.

Good to Know
No fireworks — a drone show instead. Aspen’s nighttime finale is a 9:30PM drone show over Aspen Mountain, a fitting choice for a fire-conscious town. Best viewing is from Wagner Park.
Leave the car. A road detour runs 7AM–2PM on the Fourth, with Hopkins Avenue turned over to walkers and bikes. Walk, bike, or take RFTA into the core. ADA parking is at Hopkins and Spring.
Some events need a gondola ticket. Sundeck brunch, Music on the Mountain, and Sunday’s bluegrass and trivia are up top and need a sightseeing ticket. The parade, carnival, and Wagner Park concert are free and at street level.
Some people plan a trip around a weekend like this. Others decide they’d rather not leave.
If the second one sounds like you, I know this valley—and its market—as well as anyone who’s lived it for thirty-five years. When you’re ready to talk, I’m here.
