What's happening for New Year's Eve 2026 in Aspen?
LCD Soundsystem plays Belly Up Aspen December 30, December 31 and January 1. The first two nights were waitlist only as of October 22; January 1 still had tickets. At the Paul JAS Center, a Prince tribute with former New Power Generation members plays December 28 and 29, and Karl Denson's Afro Sonic plays December 30. At The St. Regis, ANOTR plays New Year's Eve in the Grand Astor Ballroom.
Is there free live music in Aspen in winter?
Yes. The Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series puts free outdoor shows at the base of Aspen Mountain and in Snowmass around Mardi Gras and spring break; the 2027 dates are TBA. The Paul JAS Center runs free Tuesday Community Nights, and its Holiday Family Jam on December 5 is free with registration.
When is X Games Aspen 2027?
January 29 to 31, 2027, at Buttermilk. Marshmello and ZHU play X Games weekend, on January 29 and 30.
When is the Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen?
February 19 and 20, 2027, at Rio Grande Park in downtown Aspen. The Chainsmokers headline Friday; Under Construction (FISHER and Chris Lake) and HUGEL play Saturday.
What is the Paul JAS Center?
Jazz Aspen Snowmass's year-round room at 422 E. Cooper Avenue, upstairs above the old Red Onion. It opened in December 2025, seats about 200 and runs two sets most show nights, at 6:30 and 9 p.m.
What is the Jade Room at The St. Regis Aspen?
The lounge inside The Snow Lodge at The St. Regis Aspen. It pairs with Caviar Kaspia for dinner Sunday through Wednesday and becomes Club Kaspia Thursday through Sunday, with DJ sets and intimate live performances. The 2026-27 lineup is TBA; ANOTR plays New Year's Eve in the hotel's Grand Astor Ballroom.
When should I book lodging for a winter music weekend?
As soon as you have tickets. Holiday week, X Games weekend and Presidents' weekend fill first, with Palm Tree weekend close behind. And if you'd rather own the place you come back to every winter, call me.
Lineups change and shows get added all season. Confirm with each venue before you book travel.
