What is Christie's International Real Estate?+
Christie's, the auction house, was founded in London in 1766. Christie's International Real Estate is its real estate arm: a network of independent luxury brokerages in the major markets of the world. Our Aspen Snowmass office is one of them.
How does an agent get into the Masters Circle?+
Agents are nominated by their own brokerage, then Christie's makes the selection. The standards are high-end sales volume, client service, and professional conduct.
What does it do for me as a seller?+
Two things. Your home is handled by an agent whose sales at your price level were reviewed by Christie's, and your listing goes out through the Christie's network and its international website, to buyers well beyond Colorado.
And as a buyer?+
Masters Circle agents talk to each other. When someone is moving to Aspen from Chicago, Dallas, or Palm Beach, there is a fair chance I already know the agent who referred them, and a fair chance I know about a property before it hits the market.
Is it the same as a top-producer ranking?+
No. Rankings from RealTrends and the like are based on volume across all price points. The Masters Circle is Christie's own review of luxury sales specifically, and it is limited to agents within the Christie's network.
Does Christie's have much of a presence in Colorado?+
Yes. Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge all have Christie's affiliates, with agents who specialize in mountain and ski property. Christie's has held its annual conference for affiliates from more than 15 countries here in Aspen, at the St. Regis, and the Masters Circle has met here as well. Aspen is one of the places the Christie's network gathers.
Why I am telling you this
I do not put awards on my website as a rule. Most of them are handed out by the dozen, and I would rather you judge me by how I handle your sale than by a plaque.
This one is different. Christie's, one of the most recognized luxury brands in the world, named me a Masters Circle recipient. That is good to know before you hire someone to sell an eight-figure home or find you one.
The rest has not changed. I have been active in the Aspen community since 1989 and have lived in nearly every neighborhood. I have been a top producer every year since my Rookie of the Year award at Coldwell Banker Mason Morse, including the Coldwell Banker International Society of Excellence, awarded to the top 0.5% of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide.
